Delos, a must place to visit if you are in Mikonos

Delos is an island near Mikonos Greece, near the center of the Cyclades archipelago, is one of the most important mythological, historical and archaeological sites in Greece. The excavations in the island are among the most extensive in the Mediterranean; ongoing work takes place under the direction of the French School at Athens and many of the artifacts found are on display at the Archaeological Museum of Delos and the National Archaeological Museum of Athens.
It is not as renowned as other archeological sites in the area, a short boat ride from Mikonos, make sure you take a few hours to visit, it is so very much worth a visit, this used to be a place where the slave trade was held, as you walk thru the site, you are reminded of the opulence of the era, walk, get lost in the city and wonder thru the houses, rooms and mosaics that still stand. If you are a cat person, make sure you look out for the island cats which are very friendly and will let you play and pet them; they are well taken care of by the island residents who are the archeologists on duty.
Go, discover, make memories ….. Repeat
